Happy New Year! The holiday crowds may have thinned, but the stages are still blazing with star power, buzzy new productions, and long-running hits at their peak. January is a favorite month for theatergoers in the know: better availability, a more local feel, and a chance to catch shows that opened late in the year and are now settling into must-see status. If you’re looking to start the new year with an unforgettable night at the theater, Broadway is ready.

Beetlejuice closes on January 3rd after a celebrated THIRD run on Broadway! The ghost with the most returned to Broadway in all his wicked, weird glory. Beetlejuice brought its riotous humor, supernatural spectacle, and surprising heart back to the stage, as Lydia teams up with a mischievous demon and two well-meaning ghosts. It’s a wildly entertaining musical that balances outrageous laughs with an unexpectedly emotional core.

Waiting for Godot

Waiting for Godot

Waiting for Godot closes on January 4th. Jamie Lloyd directed this bold new production at the Hudson Theatre starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, who reunited onstage for the first time in decades as two companions passing the time in Samuel Beckett’s stark, timeless landscape. Best known for their Bill & Ted films, the pair bring unexpected chemistry and fresh electricity to this iconic revival and made it one of the season’s most talked-about events.
