Broadway Shows Running in August 2026

Paranormal Activity brings the hit horror film franchise to Broadway in an entirely new story written by Levi Holloway (Grey House) and directed by Felix Barrett, founder of immersive theater company Punchdrunk (Sleep No More). The play follows James and Lou, a young couple who move from Chicago to London only to discover that something sinister has followed them. The show combines supernatural thrills with immersive theatrical effects and illusions and offers a chilling new take on the modern ghost story.

Cats: The Jellicle Ball had a hit run when it premiered Off-Broadway at PAC NYC and has been delighting Broadway audiences ever since it transferred uptown. This hit musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber keeps the iconic score and reimagines the story of the jellicle cats as part of the ballroom scene. Every Brilliant Thing, written by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe, plays at the Hudson Theatre. This one-person show has grown into a global sensation after hit runs in Edinburgh, Off-Broadway at the Barrow Street Theatre, on the West End, and on stages around the world. Following a boy who makes a list of brilliant things for his mother, we see how this list affects his life as he gets older. It is a celebration of what makes life worth living. Daniel Radcliffe starred in the Broadway production before being replaced by Mariska Hargitay, and finally Tracee Ellis Ross, who finishes out the run.

Ragtime finishes its astonishing run at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater. This much extended productions started its life at City Center Encores before making the move to Broadway. Directed by Lear deBessonet, with a book by Terrence McNally and music by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, this musical about the American Dream stars Joshua Henry, Brandon Uranowitz, and Caissie Levy and was called "a timely, glorious panorama of changing times in America" by Variety.

Moulin Rouge!, based on the movie of the same name, is set in the famous Moulin Rouge cabaret in Paris. When a writer falls in love with a courtesan, their lives are changed forever. This hit show started performances on Broadway in 2019 and went on to win 10 Tony Awards including the award for Best Musical. Original star Aaron Tveit returns August 18 to 29th.
