About the Show

Experience Stereophonic, the 2024 Tony Award-winning Best Play and the most nominated play in history—now playing on Broadway at the John Golden Theatre!

Step off the streets of New York City and back in time to Sausalito, California, 1976, inside a recording studio where a band on the brink of superstardom struggles to record their new album. Set over the course of a year, Stereophonic follows the fictional band as conflicts and tensions grow.

The play is written by acclaimed playwright David Adjmi, with original music composed by Will Butler of Arcade Fire. Directed by the Tony Award-winning Daniel Aukin, Stereophonic features stunning set design by David Zinn, costume design by Enver Chakartash, lighting design by Jiyoun Chang, and sound design by Ryan Rumery.

The cast includes Tony Award-winning actor Will Brill as Reg, Tony Award nominee Sarah Pidgeon as Diana, Chris Stack as Simon, Tony Award nominee Tom Pecinka as Peter, Tony Award nominee Juliana Canfield as Holly, Andrew R. Butler as Charlie, and Tony Award nominee Eli Gelb as Grover. The ensemble's stellar performances have captivated audiences and critics alike.

Don't miss your chance to see Stereophonic, the record-breaking Tony Award winner for Best Play, live on Broadway at the John Golden Theatre!

What People Have To Say About Stereophonic

"Riveting…the play, David Adjmi’s best so far, is as rich and lustrous as they come. You could even call it platinum."

"Without exception the cast is appealing and utterly cohesive, directed by Daniel Aukin with his usual preternatural gift for tonal control…when [Will] Butler’s luscious, bruised ballads come together and Grover captures it, we levitate beyond time and space. Does Stereophonic rock? It does, hard. Instant classic."

"Solid gold…all the tiny details, wild rhythms, and clever hooks presented on stage have added up to a work that is brave, purposeful, and rich."
