About the Show
The 2024 Olivier Award winning Best New Musical is coming to Broadway!
It’s 1943. The Allied powers are currently losing the war. Luckily, two British intelligence officers, Ewen Montagu and Charles Cholmondeley have a plan to throw off the Germans on the planned Allied invasion of Sicily - and it involves a dead body, a fake love letter, and Ian Fleming.
With a book, music, and lyrics by David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson, and Zoë Roberts (known as the musical comedy troupe SpitLip) and directed by Robert Hastie, Operation Mincemeat tells the unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that helped the Allied powers defeat Hitler and win World War II.
Operation Mincemeat is equal parts farce and thriller, think Singing in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train - and with 74 Five-Star reviews, Operation Mincemeat is the best reviewed show in West End history!
Operation Mincemeat is set for a limited 16 week run on Broadway with previews beginning February 15th. Don’t miss out on seeing the Olivier Award winning musical about the hilarious covert operation that changed the course of history.
What People Have To Say About Operation Mincemeat
"There are strong echoes of the social satire of Monty Python in its prime, as well as the shape-shifting theatricality of Patrick Barlow’s The 39 Steps."
"Potential to become a cult classic. Go see it now with the original cast, so you can brag about it for years."
"It distracts you with silliness and with lickety-split lyrics in a Lin-Manuel Miranda-esque mode"
"This is the musical you didn't know you needed - until you see the expert cast of five embracing and racing through a clutch of preposterous yet endearing characters and musical styles, telling a story with delicious precision."
