About Cabaret

About the show

Willkommen! Bienvenue! Welcome! Step inside the Kit Kat Club at the August Wilson Theatre and see the award-winning production of Cabaret direct from London’s West End starring Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin!

The legendary Broadway musical by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Joe Masteroff returns to Broadway in a completely reimagined production directed by Olivier Award Winner Rebcca Frecknall.

Based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood, Cabaret will transport you from New York City to the Kit Kat Club, a seedy nightclub in Berlin where you will be greeted by Emcee, the Master of Ceremonies. Cabaret is set at the end of the 1920s in Weimar-era Berlin as American writer Cliff Bradshaw arrives to work on his novel and soak up the debaucherous nightlife. He meets cabaret performer Sally Bowles and they develop a relationship as the Nazis ascend to power and World War II looms on the horizon.  Cabaret features a timeless score by Kander & Ebb including songs like "Willkommen," “Maybe This Time,” "Cabaret," and "Tomorrow Belongs to Me."

The August Wilson Theatre has been completely renovated and reimagined as the Kit Kat Club, designed by Olivier Award winner, Tom Scutt. You can arrive up to 75 minutes early to experience pre-show entertainment, food, drinks and explore every nook and cranny of the August Wilson Theatre to see the Kit Kat Club. At Cabaret at The Kit Kat Club, your experience starts as soon as you walk through the door.
