About the show

The Tony Award winning hit Aladdin is now in its 10th year on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City!

Based on the hit animated film, Disney’s Aladdin is set in the fictional town of Agrabah and tells the daring adventure of Aladdin, a street urchin whose life changes when he finds a magical lamp and meets a genie who grants him three wishes. He wishes to marry Princess Jasmine, and he transforms into the wealthy prince Ali, but he is up against the evil Jafar who desires the lamp and its magical powers, and will stop at nothing to get hold of it.

With music by Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT) winner Alan Menken, lyrics by the legendary Howard Ashman and Tony Award Winner Tim Rice (who also wrote lyrics for The Lion King and Beauty & The Beast), and book by six time Tony nominee Chad Beguelin Disney’s Aladdin is brought to thrilling theatrical life by multiple Tony Award winning director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw.

The breathtaking spectacle features designs by Gregg Barnes (Costume Design), Bob Crowley (Scenic Design), and Natasha Katz (Lighting Design) who turn the New Amsterdam Theatre into a whole new world! Gregg Barnes, Bob Crowley, and Natasha Katz are all multiple Tony Award winning designers.

Disney’s Aladdin includes songs from the film, “Arabian Nights,” “Friend Like Me,” and of course “A Whole New World” as well as new music. The current cast includes Adi Roy as Aladdin, Michael James Scott as Genie, Sonya Balsara as Princess Jasmine, Dennis Stowe as Jafar, JC Montgomery as Sultan, and Don Darryl Rivera as Iago.
