You can also look into shows that highlight your shared interests like Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, Buena Vista Social Club, or MJ The Musical

Perhaps you’re looking to set a more romantic tone for your evening with an epic love story like Hadestown. Or you want a love story accompanied by music that you and your date know and love like Mamma Mia!, & Juliet, or Moulin Rouge! Then there’s shows like The Great Gatsby and Chess that come with more complicated romances full of longing and love triangles.

Another thing to consider when getting Broadway tickets for a romantic evening is the run time. If you’d like to go out after the show for dinner or dessert, it could be worthwhile to narrow down your options to productions with shorter run times like Six or the new robot romance Maybe Happy Ending

This Tony Award-winning hit musical started in Seoul in South Korea before making its Broadway debut in November 2024. It follows a unique love story between two robots that are designed to look human. In order to travel without the required human companions they must pass themselves off as a convincing human couple, so they come up with a romantic backstory for themselves in the song “The Rainy Day We Met.” Much to their surprise, they find themselves actually falling in love. This tender and thoughtful musical is bound to leave you feeling closer to your date, plus it’s an ideal choice if you’re looking for something with a shorter run time as it is only 100 minutes without an intermission.
