About the show

Sunset Boulevard comes to the St. James Theatre after its hit run on the West End. Nicole Scherzinger reprises her Olivier Award nominated performance as Norma Desmond in this Andrew Lloyd Webber musical based on the Billy Wilder film of the same name. Norma Desmond was a famous star in silent films…many years ago. Now she’s trying to make her comeback with the help of ambitious screenwriter Joe Gillis…but he’s out for his own ends. Book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton and direction from Jamie Lloyd.

Tammy Faye

The story of a traveling preacher’s wife who beamed into homes with a message of hope… and stole the country’s heart. It’s the 1970s. As satellites broadcast brand-new cable programming into American homes, millions fall in love with Tammy Faye Bakker – the charismatic wife of pastor Jim Bakker. Together, they build a nationwide congregation that puts the fun back into faith. But, even as Tammy dazzles on screen, jealous rivals plot behind the scenes, threatened by her determination to lead with love. Wrapped in a joyful and deliriously fun score that could only come from Elton John, with lyrics by Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears, a book by Olivier Award-winning playwright James Graham, and directed by Olivier Award winner Rupert Goold, TAMMY FAYE shines a sparkling light on the generous, loving, often lonely soul behind the illustrious lashes. Reprising their celebrated West End performances, the divine cast is led by two-time Olivier Award winner Katie Brayben as Tammy Faye and Olivier and Tony Award® nominee Andrew Rannells as Jim Bakker.

Lempicka at the Longacre Theatre

Lempicka

One of the world’s greatest artists deserves the world’s biggest stage: LEMPICKA comes to Broadway, following critically acclaimed, sold-out runs at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and the La Jolla Playhouse. From the Tony Award®-winning director of HADESTOWN and starring Eden Espinosa, this New York Times Critic’s Pick is a sweeping musical portrait of a woman who changed art and culture forever.

Spanning decades of political and personal turmoil and told through a thrilling, pop-infused score, LEMPICKA boldly explores the contradictions of a world in crisis, a woman ahead of her era, and an artist whose time has finally come.

“Eden Espinosa has finally found a part to match her high-voltage talent in this rousing, surprising, intricately shaded portrait of a conquering heroine.” The New York Times

“A singular boldness pulses through LEMPICKA, a musical that’s as ambitious and complex as the painter it frames onstage.” The Los Angeles Times
