Theater History
The Longacre, named for Longacre Square (now Times Square), was built by producer/manager H.H. Frazee (also known as the owner of the Boston Red Sox who sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees). After Frazee fell into financial difficulties, the theatre changed hands many times before being sold to Astor Theatre Incorporated, a Shubert subsidiary, in 1919. WOR leased it from 1943-1953 as a radio and television playhouse.

Is there wheelchair accessible seating available?
Wheelchair accessible seating is located in the orchestra section. Seating is accessible to all parts of the orchestra without steps.
Is there a wheelchair accessible restroom available?
Accessible restroom is available by elevator, ask a staff member for assistance. The elevator is small and will not accommodate all wheelchairs. Elevator dimesnions: 45”w x 41”d with 32” opening.
Are there assistive devices available?
Infrared assistive listening devices available for every performance; audio description and closed captioning devices will be available beginning four weeks after the show's opening night. Before this date, live-caption via CART using a hand-held device can be requested with two weeks advance notice. Rules & Regulations
When to arrive: Doors open roughly a half hour before showtime. Give yourself plenty of time to pick up tickets and find your seats. What to wear: Whatever makes you comfortable! Some people dress up for the theater, but there is no official dress code. Children under 4 are not permitted in the theater.
