Broadway Musicals Featuring the Armed Forces

Hamilton-Broadway-Musical

Hamilton

Since its 2015 debut, Hamilton has become a cultural phenomenon, winning 11 Tony Awards and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the groundbreaking production shattered box office records and holds the title of the highest-charting Broadway cast album ever. Centered on the life of Alexander Hamilton and the founding fathers before, during, and after the American Revolutionary War, the musical continues its run at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, where it remains one of Broadway’s most in-demand shows. Time Out New York said, “I love 'Hamilton.' I love it like I love New York, or Broadway when it gets it right. And this is so right.”

Operation Mincemeat

Operation Mincemeat makes its Broadway debut at the Golden Theatre after an acclaimed London run, where it earned the Olivier Award for Best New Musical. Conceived by David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson, and Zoë Roberts of the theater collective SpitLip, this darkly comic musical set in the 1940s during the Second World War recounts the unbelievable true tale of a bold scheme to outwit Hitler using a stolen corpse. Variety said this “transfer of the Olivier Award-winning musical has absurdity, laughs and heart.”
